Individuality

Every student has intrinsic worth and value they will bring to a college campus. My job is to help the student reflect on, discover and articulate this. I understand the individual nature of this process- it must be highly individualized because no two students are the same and every family is unique. I tailor my counseling and guidance to each individual student and never use a one-size-fits-all approach. 

Support Network

Parents are critical participants/supporters in the college application process. I like to think of you as the student’s co-pilot(s). I also understand that each student requires a different level of parent involvement, and I adjust my approach accordingly. Similarly and unsurprisingly, I respect and love high school counselors. I value the guidance, expertise and input they provide to students.

Expertise

Staying current with college admissions trends is critical to being an effective college counselor. I make it a point to constantly inform myself of the latest and greatest resources available to those of us specializing in college consulting. Whether it’s accessing articles, data, visiting campuses or attending workshops, how can I properly support the transition to undergraduate education without committing to being a lifelong learner?
